XJTU professors selected as IEEE Fellows
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) recently announced the list of newly elected IEEE Fellows for 2026. Professor Shen Chao and Professor Luan Hao from the School of Cyber Science and Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), were on the list.

Professor Shen Chao
Shen is a distinguished professor under the National High-Level Talent Program, the leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Innovation Group B, and the head of the Ministry of Education innovation team.
His research focuses on the trustworthiness, security, and control of intelligent systems. He serves as the chair of IEEE SMC&CS Xi'an, vice-president of ACM SIGSAC China, deputy director of the Organization Working Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and deputy director of the Intelligent Evaluation Committee of the Chinese Command and Control Society.

Professor Luan Hao
Luan is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He received his bachelor's degree from XJTU, his master's degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and his doctoral degree from the University of Waterloo.
His research focuses on key technologies for protocol optimization and security mechanism design in the fields of vehicular networks, wireless intelligent agent networks, and edge computing networks.
In recent years, he has published over 270 papers in top-tier journals and flagship conferences such as IEEE TON, JSAC, TMC, TVT, and INFOCOM. He has been listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists for six consecutive years and has received the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society's 2017 Best Land Transportation Paper Award, as well as Best Paper Awards at IEEE Metacom 2023 and IEEE VTC 2023-fall.
The IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, with over 460,000 members in more than 190 countries and regions. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership in the IEEE, awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement or application of engineering science and technology, resulting in substantial societal influence.
