The finals of the 11th Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Tournament concluded on Nov 24 at Central South University in Central China's Hunan province. All five teams submitted by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) won first prizes, a record for the university.
The tournament attracted 722 universities, 3,260 teams, and 18,985 participants, including universities like Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, and the University of Science and Technology of China.
It includes preliminary, knockout, and final rounds, with teams evaluated on novelty, innovation, educational value, and functional design through online presentations, physical demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. A total of 501 first prizes were awarded.
Established in 2010, this tournament is the only physics event listed in the National Ranking of College Student Competitions, holding significant influence in extracurricular science and technology activities.
In response to the demands of deepening educational reform and talent cultivation, XJTU has integrated resources to build a distinctive innovation and entrepreneurship education system. Through high-level academic competitions, XJTU helps students align their research with cutting-edge technology and real-world industrial challenges, fostering industry-academia collaboration and cultivating high-quality innovators.
