US hosts 13th Chiao-Tung University Alumni Association in America Reunion Summit

The 13th Chiao-Tung University Alumni Association in America Reunion Summit was held from May 24 to 25 in Silicon Valley, California, the United States. Leaders from Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University joined over 600 worldwide alumni at the summit.
During the University Presidents Forum, Shan Zhiwei, vice-president of XJTU, outlined the university's initiatives to integrate education, technology, and talent development. He highlighted the university's industry-education integration programs, collaborative innovation in talent cultivation, and forward-looking disciplinary planning.
Shan also met with Zhao Xicheng (class of 1946 alumnus and former chairman of the Americas Alumni Association) and his daughter Elaine Chao. He conveyed the university's sincere regards to Zhao and extended an invitation for both to visit XJTU.
During the summit, the XJTU delegation organized multiple symposiums, where alumni reminisced about their camaraderie and discussed strategies for their alma mater's development. Shan showcased the university's recent achievements through iHarbour, emphasizing progress in talent cultivation, discipline development, international collaboration, and scientific research.
Shan conferred association flags to North American alumni organizations and invited alumni to return for XJTU's 130th-anniversary celebration. Attendees congratulated the university on its recent achievements and offered constructive suggestions for future development.
