A delegation led by Asylbek Aidaraliev, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) on May 17 for academic exchanges and discussions.

Zhang Liqun, president of XJTU and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, met with the delegation and presented Aidaraliev with an honorary professorship certificate.

Zhang highlighted Aidaraliev's prolific research achievements in human ecology, educational policy, and mountain sustainability, as well as his promotion of international academic collaboration through initiatives like the Belt and Road International Medical Education Alliance, which has garnered extensive scholarly influence.

Zhang expressed hope that this collaboration would pave the way for a hopeful future for youth from both nations and strengthen the friendship between the two universities and countries.

Aidaraliev commended XJTU's remarkable achievements in energy technology and ecological engineering. He noted XJTU's recent role as the Chinese Presidential Office of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) University, which has promoted collaborative education and cultural exchanges among member institutions through initiatives like hosting the SCO University Annual Conference and launching the SCO University Digital Education Development Plan.

He described the honorary professorship not only as a personal distinction but also as a crucial opportunity for scientists from both nations to jointly address global challenges, expressing anticipation for deepening educational innovation and cross-cultural dialogue through practical cooperation.

During the discussions, both parties explored potential collaborations in areas such as energy storage technology applications and cross-border ecological research through integrated educational and scientific efforts.

They emphasized the need for SCO University member institutions to deepen collaborative development and cultural exchanges, utilizing educational partnerships and digital transformation to harmonize talent cultivation with industrial innovation, thereby providing scientific and human resources for regional sustainable development.
