XJTU unveils wheeled humanoid robot 'Xunxiao'
The wheeled humanoid robot "Xunxiao" developed by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Institute of Robotics.
On April 12, the Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Institute of Robotics launched its wheeled humanoid robot "Xunxiao" at iHarbour in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province. Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee, addressed the ceremony hosted by Mei Xuesong, professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering and director of the Robotics Institute.
Developed by the YouiBot-XJTU Embodied Intelligence Robotics Institute, "Xunxiao" is the first member of a new humanoid robot series. Equipped with mobile navigation, operational control, and intelligent interaction technologies, it boasts cross-scenario adaptability, enabling deployment in household services, industrial inspections, precision tasks, and smart logistics.
This launch marks a leap forward in multimodal task execution for embodied robots, driving intelligent upgrades across industries and homes.
Lu hailed the achievement as a breakthrough in smart manufacturing and robotics, reflecting XJTU's commitment to integrating national strategies and deepening industry-academia-research collaboration.
He urged the institute to focus on national strategic needs, advance interdisciplinary innovation in core humanoid robotics technologies, cultivate high-skilled talents with practical and innovative capabilities, and promote the integration of innovation, industry, talent, and education chains.
