City University of Macau (CityU) conferred honorary doctorates upon several professors, including Guan Xiaohong, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at the Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), at its 45th Anniversary Ceremony and Conferment Ceremony of Honorary Degrees on March 28.

The honorary doctorate is the highest honor CityU bestows upon leading scholars, recognizing excellence in professional fields and social contributions. Subject to a rigorous review process, this honor represents the high level of recognition from Macao's higher education community for the recipients' academic standing.

Guan is a renowned systems engineer and an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow. His research focuses on the economy and security of complex networked systems, the optimization of power, energy, and manufacturing systems, cyber information security, and cyber-physical systems.

He also conducts innovative research into the quantitative analysis of music intelligence and information processing, with his accolades including two second-class National Natural Science Awards, the Science and Technology Awards of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, and numerous international academic honors.
