XJTU faculty and students participate in overseas training

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) organized a group of 48 faculty members and students to visit international organizations and participate in global training programs during the winter break. This initiative further advances the internationalization and high-quality development of the university's career education, helping cultivate a new generation of talent with global competence.

XJTU faculty members visit UN Macau in the Netherlands and Germany.

Building on XJTU's collaboration with the United Nations University Institute in Macau (UNU Macau), Director Zheng Xuhong and Deputy Director Li Jianglong of the Student Career Development Center, as well as Xu Ming, deputy Party secretary of the School of Foreign Studies, visited the UNU campuses in Maastricht of the Netherlands, and Bonn of Germany.

During the visit, the delegation participated in courses on "AI for Policy: Industry and Innovation Systems" in the Netherlands and "Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security" in Germany, and held discussions with project leaders and researchers.

The two sides held in-depth negotiations on future cooperation, including recommending interns to international organizations and conducting on-site inspections of short-term study and internship programs.

Additionally, the delegation met with three XJTU alumni currently studying or working in the Netherlands and Germany. They exchanged ideas on strengthening alumni ties and invited them to return to their alma mater for the 130th anniversary celebration.

XJTU students visit more than 20 international organizations and institutions in Europe.

Through department recommendations and university selection, three graduate students and 31 undergraduates from 11 colleges and 17 schools traveled to Geneva, Vienna, Paris, Turin, The Hague, and Macao.

They participated in international training programs hosted by the World Federation of United Nations Associations, the UNESCO Center for Peace, the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, and UNU Macau.

Furthermore, one graduate student and three undergraduates traveled to the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, for a one-month internship. Focusing on core issues such as the green transition, digital governance, and cross-cultural communication, they participated in numerous international conferences and policy seminars. By visiting European Parliament Information Offices and EU institutions, they developed a multidimensional understanding of the EU policy system and the global governance agenda.

XJTU students learn about cutting-edge tech entrepreneurship in Singapore.

Finally, driven by a passion for AI entrepreneurship, five undergraduates visited the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and the Singapore University of Social Science. They took courses on cutting-edge tech entrepreneurship and toured smart city developments and unicorn startups.
