Over 30 university and enterprise representatives from China and eight European countries attended the Sino-European Education and Research Cooperation and Innovation Forum, held at the Beijing National Convention Center on Oct 29.

The forum was an international conference organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), held during the 2025 China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Europe.

Since 2000, the CACIE has been held annually and is currently China's largest comprehensive platform for educational cooperation and exchange, as well as one of the most influential comprehensive international education events in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the forum's outcome release session, the CEAIE and the German GBS Education Group signed a memorandum of understanding for the China-German Encounter Program.

Following this, ceremonies were held for the cooperative outcome of the "China-Central and Eastern Europe University Alliance for Engineering Disciplines Community," namely the appointment of personnel for the XJTU-Shaanxi Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Co-Vinča Nuclera Institute International Joint Laboratory for Hydrogen Energy.

Beijing Foreign Studies University also released its report "Research on Pathways to Promote China-CEEC Education Cooperation in the Context of Building a Strong Education Nation."

During the roundtable discussion session, participants discussed "new paradigms for future higher education cooperation empowered by digitization and intelligence" and "breaking traditions and boundaries, exploring new mechanisms and ecosystems for collaborative innovation."

They expressed that establishing a mutually recognized and interoperable digital education standard system, cultivating talent with digital literacy and global competencies, and reshaping the integrated development system of academia and industry in the face of the digital economy wave, all require continuous strengthening of dialogue and cooperation between Chinese and European universities to explore new paradigms for win-win cooperation.
