Xi'an Jiaotong University has launched a new international academic journal, Intelligent Equipment, aimed at advancing research in the intelligent equipment sector. The launch ceremony, held in Xi'an, was organized by the university's School of Mechanical Engineering, the National Key Laboratory of Precision and Micro-Nano Manufacturing Technology, and the Journal Center, with support from Higher Education Press.

The event was attended by Zhang Liqun, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with officials from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and the Department of Science and Technology. Over 300 participants, including industry representatives, faculty, and students, joined the ceremony. Lei Yaguo, executive editor-in-chief and executive vice dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, presided over the launch.

Zhang Liqun highlighted the journal's role in supporting China's strategy for high-end equipment manufacturing and its potential to become an influential platform for scientific innovation in intelligent equipment globally. Mei Zhengli from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education emphasized the importance of intelligent equipment in achieving technological self-reliance and enhancing China's global academic presence.

Lu Bingheng and Jiang Zhuangde, co-chief editors and CAE members, stressed the need for a high-caliber international platform to address challenges in high-end equipment and industrial software. The journal will focus on areas such as intelligent design, robotic systems, industrial AI, and digital twins, aiming to cover the entire academic chain from design to maintenance.

The editorial board, comprising 48 renowned experts, including over 60 percent academicians, was also announced. Intelligent Equipment selected under China's High-start New Journal Program, will cover frontier areas like intelligent manufacturing systems and green technologies. The journal aims to enhance international collaboration and contribute to innovation in the intelligent equipment sector.
