XJTU students shine at 20th Asian Games
At the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) students Long Yiping and Wen Ruibo won two silver medals and one bronze medal, showcasing XJTU's youthful spirit and excellence on Asia's highest competitive stage.
In the women's 1-meter springboard diving final, Long won silver with a five-round total of 254.25 points. Teaming up with her compatriot Lin Shan, who took gold with 263.05 points, they helped Team China sweep the top two spots in the event.
From countless hours of gym practice to her poised debut at the Asian Games, this hard-earned silver medal reflects Long's dedication and perseverance. As an emerging force in Chinese diving, she sharpened her competitive mindset and gained major-match experience, taking steady strides toward even higher athletic goals.
This year, 19-year-old Wen Ruibo, a 2026 incoming freshman at XJTU and member of the Chinese national table tennis team, debuted at the Asian Games, competing in the men's team and men's doubles events and ultimately taking home one silver and one bronze.
For Wen, these medals are a rewarding takeaway from his first-ever Asian Games. This strong showing will serve as a new starting point, inspiring him to continue honing his skills on the court, study diligently, and pursue his table tennis dreams.
