XJTU's 10 textbooks win the Second National Textbook Construction Awards.

The National Textbook Committee has released the list of the Second National Textbook Construction Awards. Ten textbooks from Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) won awards in the higher education category, tying the university for fifth nationwide in total awards. Of these, nine are undergraduate textbooks with three first prizes and six second prizes, and one is a graduate textbook that earned a first prize.

This marks the second edition of the National Textbook Construction Awards following the inaugural selection in 2020. A total of 975 outstanding textbooks were honored nationwide, including 386 in the higher education category.

In recent years, XJTU has spearheaded the creation of core textbooks for the Ministry of Education's artificial intelligence "101 Plan". The university's Energy Storage Science and Engineering Textbook Research Base was designated as a National Key Research Base for Textbook Construction, and three of its projects were selected for the cultivation program for original philosophy and social science textbooks for universities in the new era.

Furthermore, XJTU has secured approval for two sets of "New Era Series" textbooks, alongside three Ministry of Education textbook system construction teams for strategic emerging fields.

Throughout 2026, the university has been developing its 15th Five-Year Textbook Construction Plan, refining supportive policies, and increasing backing for faculty authors. By targeting cutting-edge and interdisciplinary fields, basic sciences, philosophy and social sciences, and areas of national shortage, XJTU will form elite teams to develop high-quality textbooks that support top-tier materials and align with national strategies and societal needs.

Alongside this, the university is stepping up theoretical research and innovative practices in textbook development, pioneering the creation of "AI+ textbooks" integrated with digital and intelligent technologies.
