XJTU professor receives IMFTF Outstanding Contribution Award

Guo Liejin (L) receives inaugural IMFTF Outstanding Contribution Award for his contributions to multiphase flow theory and key technologies in energy and power, as well as green energy conversion.
The plenary session of the 3rd International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum (IMFTF 2026) took place on July 28 at the University of Leeds, the United Kingdom.
Professor Guo Liejin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an academician of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and director of the State Key Laboratory of Green Hydrogen and Electricity at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was honored with the inaugural IMFTF Outstanding Contribution Award as its sole recipient.
The award recognizes his systematic and original contributions to multiphase flow theory and key technologies in energy and power, as well as the field of green energy conversion.
The award citation particularly emphasized that Guo's research goes beyond just one technology, device, or process. It is grounded in multiphase flow science and has established a comprehensive innovation chain covering fundamental theory, regulatory techniques, key technologies, core equipment, system integration, and engineering demonstrations. His work has significantly contributed to the advancement of multiphase flow as a discipline, the progress of major energy engineering technologies, and the global shift toward greener, low-carbon energy solutions.
