The lecture series offers insights into AI fundamentals and frontier applications.

The Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) hosted the Foundations and Frontier Applications of Artificial Intelligence lecture series, part of the 2026 Xi'an Jiao·Tong International Summer Session (XJTISS).

Held both online and offline, the lecture series attracted over 1,500 undergraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds, creating an atmosphere of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary in-depth exchange, with online live streams recording over 42,000 views.

The lecture series featured seven expert scholars from XJTU, Stevens Institute of Technology in the United States, and the University of Milan in Italy as instructors.

The fully English-taught lectures and internationalized curriculum enabled students to build foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence, broaden their academic horizons, update interdisciplinary knowledge, and spark their interest and drive to engage in scientific research.

An online quiz was set up after each lecture to help the undergraduate students evaluate their new knowledge.
