The 2026 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 8th International Conference on Direct Current Microgrids was held in Xi'an from June 12 to 14. The conference was hosted by the IEEE Power Electronics Society and co-organized by the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment.

The organizing committee invited 47 top international experts to conduct in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge fields, including DC power distribution and supply, DC data centers, power electronic DC equipment, and renewable energy DC grid integration. The conference established a high-level, international platform bridging theoretical research, engineering practice, and industrial application.

It featured keynote speeches by four IEEE Fellows, who shared their pioneering research in DC microgrid technology. By blending advanced theory with real-world engineering case studies, their presentations analyzed key technologies and industrial frontiers in DC microgrids.

They demonstrated the distinct advantages of DC technology in enhancing renewable energy integration and reducing power losses, offering fresh perspectives for global energy system transformation.

Following standard IEEE paper review and publication protocols, the conference called for academic papers globally, receiving a total of 146 valid submissions, 115 of which were accepted. All accepted papers will be indexed in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library and submitted to the EI Compendex database, ensuring internationally recognized academic credentials.
