Eight XJTU think tanks recognized among top in China
The 8th China Think Tank Construction and Evaluation Summit Forum, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies, was held in Beijing on Sept 19. The results of the 2025 China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Research Project (AMI) were announced at the forum, with eight Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) think tanks selected.
The AMI was launched in 2016 and is a highly authoritative and influential national think tank evaluation activity. The second round of think tank enrollment and selection was launched in January 2025, focusing on policy advice, theoretical innovation, public opinion guidance, social services, public diplomacy, and internal governance innovation.
A comprehensive evaluation of think tanks and selection of characteristic cases were conducted based on attractiveness, influence, and management capabilities. A total of 557 think tanks were selected for the 2025 AMI think tank list.
Through hierarchical think tank cultivation, XJTU has established three national-level bases and think tanks as well as 31 ministerial-level key research bases and think tanks. It has jointly built 37 bases and think tanks in cooperation with national and provincial government departments.
XJTU saw 15 think tanks included among the CTTI think tanks and eight among the AMI think tanks, giving them the chance to voice their opinions on policy advice, theoretical innovation, public opinion guidance, social services, and public diplomacy.
