Recently, Dr. He Yayi from the Department of Endocrinology of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU published her research paper on the journal Scientific Reports entitled “Association of HLA-B and HLADRB1polymorphisms with antithyroid drug-induced agranulocytosis in a Han population from northern China”.
(Link to this paper: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-017-12350-2 ).
This study was the first to report the susceptibility of the Han population from northern China to the antithyroid drug (ATD)-induced agranulocytosis, and is considered to be of great value in revealing the genetic factors of ATD-induced agranulocytosis. The study also explains the mechanisms of ATD-induced agranulocytosis from a genetic perspective, providing a novel therapeutic idea for improving the accuracy of clinical treatment of hyperthyreosis and individualized treatment.
