The 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit was held in Bishkek, capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, on Sept 1. On Sept 2, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the "List of Achievements of China's Actions to Promote the Development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Action (2025-26)."

Six initiatives led or participated in by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) were included in the list, including one outcome document, three events, and two projects.

During the summit, the China-Kyrgyzstan School of Outstanding Engineers, jointly established by Xinjiang University, XJTU, and Kyrgyz State Technical University, was incorporated into the joint declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Kyrgyz Republic on the high-quality development of the comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.

Spanning talent training, scientific research cooperation, cultural exchange, platform building, and other dimensions, these achievements demonstrate XJTU's commitment to upholding the "Shanghai Spirit" and serving the nation's broader opening-up agenda through educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation.

As a Chinese institutional coordinator for the SCO University and the lead institution for the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center, XJTU remains committed to deepening partnerships with universities across SCO member states. The university will continue contributing XJTU expertise and Chinese solutions to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and the building of an even closer SCO community with a shared future.
