Xinjiang University, XJTU, and Kyrgyz State Technical University jointly establish the Kyrgyz-China Institute of Outstanding Engineers in Bishkek.

The Kyrgyz-China Institute of Outstanding Engineers was inaugurated in Bishkek on Aug 30, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Jointly established by Xinjiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and Kyrgyz State Technical University with deep participation from key enterprises in both countries, the institute focuses on fields such as green mining and smart energy to cultivate outstanding engineering talent across borders.

Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng delivered a video address for the inauguration ceremony. He urged the institution to cultivate interdisciplinary engineering and technology leaders with a global vision, actively contributing to deeper educational cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan while promoting the economic and social development of Central Asia.

Gulzat Isamatova, minister of science, higher education and innovation of Kyrgyzstan, said the institute's establishment reflects the long-term mutual trust and practical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.

Yan Junjie, vice-president of XJTU, noted that the university will share high-quality courses and faculty resources, facilitate academic exchanges for faculty and students, provide practical training environments, and implement a dual-mentor system. These efforts aim to position the institute as a model platform for China-Kyrgyzstan industry-education integration and a talent hub for the Belt and Road Initiative.

Moving forward, XJTU will remain committed to refining a specialized and distinctive engineering talent training system for Central Asia, striving to build the institute into a model platform for SCO higher education cooperation and contributing XJTU's strength to deepening the China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership and building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
