Xi'an Jiaotong University hosts seminar on entrepreneurship and employment

On May 22, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) celebrated the 12th anniversary of its student Maker Summit with a seminar focused on entrepreneurial practice and high-quality employment at its Xingqing Campus. The event aimed to enhance graduates' employment prospects by integrating education, technology, and talent cultivation through hands-on entrepreneurship training and achievement exhibitions.

The two-day event attracted government officials, industry experts, alumni, and university administrators. Participants included faculty and students from eight universities, such as Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Normal University.

Under the theme "Boundless Entrepreneurship, Resounding Practice," the seminar featured a commemorative video showcasing 12 years of student innovation at XJTU. It highlighted the progression of student projects from creative ideas to practical outcomes and industrial applications.

Lian Hongbin, a research fellow at the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, opened the seminar by introducing local policies supporting youth innovation and entrepreneurship. He emphasized the strong collaboration between Xi'an authorities and the university in talent training and encouraged students to plan their careers systematically.

During the event, seven industry professionals and distinguished alumni were appointed as career planning mentors for students. Zheng Xuhong, director of XJTU's Student Career and Entrepreneurship Guidance Service Center, discussed advancements in employment and entrepreneurship education. She noted the use of AI-enabled services to enhance career guidance and the expansion of domestic and international cooperation to provide high-quality job opportunities for graduates.

The seminar also included keynote addresses from eight speakers covering topics such as policy support, campus innovation training, digital healthcare, and engineering entrepreneurship. An innovation achievement exhibition and the Hongzhi Navigation Job Fair showcased award-winning student projects and attracted over 40 enterprises, facilitating recruitment and talent connection.

Specialized workshops further enhanced students' practical competencies, offering insights into cross-regional career development and business operation strategies. XJTU continues to prioritize quality-oriented employment and entrepreneurship education, aiming to empower students to contribute to national strategic development through professional competence and innovation.
