XJTU welcomes 2025 graduate students
Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held the opening ceremony for the 2025 graduate students at iHarbour on Sept 6, with 11,486 students from all over the country participating.
Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee, said that in recent years, the university has established partnerships with hundreds of Fortune 500 companies to promote the deep integration of industry and education as well as carry out collaborative university-enterprise talent training.
The university has accelerated the construction of open cooperation platforms such as the "Silk Road University Alliance", the "China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center", and the Hong Kong Research Institute, allowing students to explore the forefront of science and technology and help solve bottleneck problems.
Zhang Liqun, president of XJTU and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, extended a warm welcome to all 2025 graduate students, and introduced the achievements of XJTU in talent cultivation, scientific research, discipline construction, industry-education integration, and open school management.
He encouraged the students to cultivate a sense of national responsibility and mission, bravely pursue excellence, become pioneers, be benevolent and loving, and strive to make the world a better place.
Alumni representative Fang Jiancheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of Beihang University, encouraged the students to cherish the valuable opportunities to study at XJTU, link personal ambitions with national strategies, strive for the construction of a strong country, and be worthy of the times and worthy of the motherland.
International guest representative Manuel Barcia, pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Bath, said that the path to finding one's true mission in life is often not a straight line, and the students are about to embark on a new academic journey in an era facing tremendous opportunities and challenges.
He encouraged the students to stay curious about the world, cultivate an international mindset, proactively adapt to changes, strive to shape the future, embrace ambitious dreams, and create meaningful lives through practical actions.
