ICAMTFA 2025 and 9th NFYSAM kick off in Xi'an
Experts from China, Germany, Russia, Spain, and Japan discuss the future of additive manufacturing.
The 2025 International Conference on Additive Manufacturing Technology Frontiers and Applications (ICAMTFA 2025), the ninth National Forum for Young Scientists on Additive Manufacturing (9th NFYSAM), the third Forum on Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics (FAME 2025), and the seventh 4D Printing Forum (7th 4DPF) were held from April 11 to 13 in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
Over 700 experts from China, Germany, Russia, Spain and Japan attended the events, which consisted of nearly 40 organization exhibitions and 235 on-site academic presentations.
The event's integration of academic sessions and professional exhibitions bridged academia and industrial sectors, underscoring China's global leadership in additive manufacturing. With advancing technologies and cross-industry collaboration, additive manufacturing is poised to energize sectors like high-end manufacturing, aerospace, and biomedicine.
Sun Ke, vice-chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highlighted the province's role as a hub for additive manufacturing innovation and industry clusters.
The province has launched supporting policies, established the Qinchuangyuan Additive Manufacturing Industrial Innovation Cluster Zone, and built high-level R&D platforms to attract top talent.
Professor Bie Chaohong, executive vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University, emphasized the forums' missions to unite global additive manufacturing scholars, experts, and entrepreneurs in sharing breakthroughs and applications. The forums aim to foster high-end, intelligent additive manufacturing development, explore new industrial models, and accelerate innovation to advance next-generation productivity.
