The number of XJTU scholars in the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list has continued to increase over the past few years.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) saw ‌92 of its scholars‌ named on the 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list recently released by Elsevier. The list includes 6,388 scholars from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions across China. It spans ‌10 disciplinary fields‌ and ‌83 first-level disciplines‌ as defined by the Ministry of Education‌.

XJTU has seen an increase of ‌nine scholars‌ compared to the previous year‌, and the number of scholars selected for this ranking‌ has consistently risen over the past decade.

The 2024 cohort from XJTU spans ‌26 first-level disciplines‌ across ‌seven major disciplinary categories‌. The top three disciplines are power engineering and engineering thermophysics‌ (21 scholars)‌, mechanical engineering‌ (11 scholars)‌, and materials science and engineering‌ (eight scholars).
