The Ministry of Education's regulatory information platform for Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools has updated the public information for Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU)-Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) Joint School, announcing the addition of an electrical engineering and automation (080601H) program with an annual enrollment quota of 80 students.
XJTU-POLIMI Joint School is a non-independent Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution established through the strong partnership between the two universities. Upon completing the required coursework and meeting the necessary academic standards, students will receive a bachelor's degree and graduation certificate from XJTU and a bachelor's degree from POLIMI, enabling them to gain an international education experience without studying abroad.
The newly added program brings together the strengths of both universities. XJTU's electrical engineering discipline is rated A+ and listed as a world-class discipline. It boasts strong faculty and research resources and currently ranks first nationwide according to the latest Soft Science (ShanghaiRanking) evaluation.
Founded in 1863, POLIMI is Italy's oldest and largest technical university. It is renowned across Europe as a leading research-focused institution and a member of the prestigious IDEA League of top European engineering universities.
XJTU and POLIMI have a long history of collaboration in electrical engineering. In May 2012, XJTU's School of Electrical Engineering signed a dual master's degree agreement with POLIMI to train three-year master's students in an international class. Over the past decade, more than 100 students from China and Italy have earned degrees from both institutions.
