Professor Wang Tiejun from the School of Aerospace at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) has been elected as one of the inaugural CSTAM (Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics) Fellows. He was also appointed vice-president of the 12th CSTAM General Assembly.

Professor Xu Feng from the School of Life Science was elected Executive Council Member. Professors Liu Yilun and Fan Xueling from the School of Aerospace were elected council members.

Founded in February 1957 by renowned scientists Qian Xuesen, Zhou Peiyuan, Qian Weichang, and Guo Yonghuai, CSTAM has played a vital role in advancing mechanics research in China. In 2024, CSTAM introduced the Fellow program to refine its membership system, establish an academic recognition mechanism, and encourage scientific excellence. The inaugural list of 61 Fellows, announced at the meeting, represents the highest honor within CSTAM, recognizing members with outstanding achievements in mechanics and significant contributions to society's development.

Professor Wang serves as the director of the State Key Laboratory for Strength and Vibration of Mechanical Structures. He is also a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and has been a standing committee member of the CPC XJTU Committee, vice-president of XJTU, and chair of CSTAM's Solid Mechanics Committee.
