During the winter holiday, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) organized 15 teams consisting of 90 faculty and students to participate in training projects sponsored by international organizations and institutions.
Thirty-six students visited the United Nations' New York Headquarters, its offices in Geneva and Vienna, and the UN City in Copenhagen. They also toured nearly 20 major international organizations, including UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization), the World Health Organization, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization.
They participated in lectures, reports, and practical workshops, covering global governance theories, international affairs, and the world’s future development. The discussions delved into key issues including global health, heritage protection, sustainable development, and international competence.
The Global Governance and Finance Program visited several international organizations in Washington, D.C. and New York, including the United Nations Headquarters, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, AFS Intercultural Programs, and the UN Youth Office. Through reports and discussions with experts and officials, students gained a deeper understanding of China's role in global economic recovery and sustainable development.
From Jan 12 to Feb 8, four master's students from the School of Law and the School of Management participated in an internship program at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
The European Parliament is one of the three main institutions of the European Union, responsible for legislation, supervision, budgeting, and advisory functions.
As interns, they participated in daily tasks such as information gathering, report writing, and public relations. They also observed plenary sessions, specialized workshops, and hearings at the European Parliament.
Coinciding with Chinese New Year, the interns organized events showcasing traditional Chinese culture, bringing a festive atmosphere and cultural experience to friends from different countries.
In Singapore, 28 students, primarily from STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines, engaged in an entrepreneurial training and corporate visit program.
In the building and real estate lab of an innovative company, they encountered IoT (Internet of Things) sensors capable of real-time construction data collection, witnessing precise energy management and intelligent equipment operation. At a robotics innovation company, they experienced wearing an exoskeleton – an innovative product that will help millions of workers work more efficiently in the future.
