XJTU delegation visits Central Asia
The Periodicals Publishing House of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and XJTU Press recently organized a delegation to Central Asia, visiting Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Tashkent State Transport University, and Tashkent State Technical University to promote cooperation in cultural exchanges, publishing and communication.
On the morning of Oct 7, the delegation visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Erkin Duisenov, the first vice-rector, warmly welcomed the delegation and held a meeting with the delegates. Both sides introduced their respective institutions and expressed hopes of deepening cooperation in the future.

From the afternoon of Oct 7 to the morning of Oct 8, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the construction of the China-Kazakhstan Publishing Center and journal cluster cooperation, ultimately signing a strategic cooperation agreement. On the afternoon of Oct 8, the delegation visited a private publishing house in Almaty to conduct detailed research on the book publishing and distribution situation in Kazakhstan.

On the morning of Oct 10, the delegation visited Tashkent State Transport University in Uzbekistan, where they met with the university's first vice-rector – Abdulaziz Gulyamov, and vice-rector for science and innovation – Said Shaumarov, as well as the chief of the publishing house, the director of the journal center, and the director of the information and resource center. Following their discussions, both sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. In the afternoon, the delegation also visited the National Library of Uzbekistan and conducted research in two bookstores to understand the book management processes and market conditions.
On Oct 11, the delegation visited Tashkent State Technical University in Uzbekistan, engaging in discussions with vice-rector – Donaev Sardor and heads of the International Office and journal departments. Both sides held in-depth exchanges and consultations on journal development and the establishment of the China-Uzbekistan Publishing Center. After the discussions, they signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
