A delegation from Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) led by Zhang Liqun, president of XJTU, visited local universities in Turkiye from Oct 8 to 11 to participate in related exchange events.

On Oct 8, Zhang and his delegation visited Sabanci University, where Cem Guneri, the university's vice-president for education, warmly welcomed them. Both sides introduced their respective universities and expressed hope for more collaboration in the future, especially in talent development.

At Ozyegin University, Baris Tan, the president, presented the university's development and vision and expressed his anticipation of comprehensive cooperation between the two institutions. Zhang introduced the rich history of Xi'an and the background and history of XJTU. The two parties discussed promoting student mobility, academic exchange, and university-industry cooperation and signed a university-level cooperation memorandum.

On Oct 10, Zhang signed the "XJTU Joint Establishment of International Student Recruitment Base Agreement" with two local high schools and awarded plaques designating them "Parent School for Undergraduate Program of XJTU".

Zhang and his delegation also met with alumni representatives who were working and studying in Turkiye. He warmly greeted the alumni and, on behalf of XJTU, expressed gratitude for their continued care and support for the university's development.

During his visit to Turkiye, Zhang was invited to attend the 2024 International Rubber Conference and delivered a keynote speech.
