POLIMI delegation visits XJTU-POLIMI School

The POLIMI delegation tours the Milan Building.

Donatella Sciuto, rector of Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), led a delegation to visit the Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU)-POLIMI Joint School of Design and Innovation (XJTU-POLIMI School) at XJTU on Aug 30.

The delegation included Giuliano Noci, vice-rector of POLIMI, Sergio Amedeo Pignari, the rector's representative, and Delia Olivetto, director of the China Department at School of Management. Both sides discussed talent cultivation, research collaboration, college development, and strengthening cooperation in relevant academic fields.

Professor Zhai Binqing, assistant dean of the XJTU-POLIMI School, invited the delegation to visit the Milan Building and provided an overview of its construction and history.

Professor Chen Xiaoming, vice-dean of the XJTU-POLIMI School, introduced the school's characteristics, achievements, and international exchange and collaboration efforts. He expressed hope for increased cooperation between POLIMI and the XJTU-POLIMI School.

Rector Sciuto emphasized POLIMI's commitment to strengthening its joint educational programs and hoped to see more Italian professors and teams engage in scientific research and university-industry collaboration with their Chinese counterparts.

Vice-Rector Noci suggested that both sides broaden their horizons, using their advantages to attract high-quality faculty and students and to expand multidisciplinary development in engineering and related fields.

Pignari expressed hope for continued research collaboration and closer ties between Chinese and Italian enterprises.

The XJTU-POLIMI School is a key platform for XJTU and POLIMI to cultivate innovative talent and advance multidisciplinary research collaboration. Both institutions are committed to working together closely to explore new opportunities that will inject lasting momentum into the high-quality development of talent cultivation and research innovation.
