He emphasized that XJTU is committed to building a platform for higher education and tirelessly working to enhance communication and understanding among young people from different countries and cultures. He welcomed KU to join UASR and looked forward to in-depth cooperation between the two institutions in student training, scientific research and other areas under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Songsasen provided an overview of KU, highlighting its research strengths and student training programs.

The two sides held extensive discussions on deepening international exchanges and cooperation, including potential collaborations in humanities and natural sciences, and reached a consensus on signing a memorandum of understanding.

KU, founded in 1943, is Thailand's first agricultural university and the third oldest university in the country. In addition to its strong agriculture and forestry programs, the university has been enhancing its disciplines in engineering, humanities, social sciences, economics, symbiotic management, education, and sports science, aiming to develop into a more comprehensive university. In the 2023 QS World University Rankings, KU ranked between 801-1,000 globally, with its agriculture and forestry program ranked first in Thailand, 8th in Asia, and 53rd in the world.
