XJTU hosts forum on development of higher education among SCO member states
The publication of a book called "International Cooperation in Higher Education Among Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States" and the International Symposium on Higher Education Cooperation and Industry-University Integration were held at Astana IT University, Kazakhstan, on July 4.
This event was co-hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KAZNU), and Astana IT University (AITU). Kazakh president's advisor and the two countries' ministers of education attended the event and delivered speeches.
The two ministers of education both expressed in their speeches that in recent years, educational cooperation between the two countries has continued to deepen, resulting in numerous successful collaborations in the field of higher education.
Looking ahead, both leaders expressed hope that higher education cooperation between the two countries will not only strengthen in terms of language training and talent cultivation but also expand to include new fields and models in scientific research and the deep integration of industry, university, and research. They also look forward to further strengthening and deepening higher education cooperation within the framework of the SCO.

This new book analyzes the strengths and challenges faced by universities in various countries when it comes to conducting international cooperation, summarizes successful cases of international collaboration, and shares initiatives for international industry-university-research cooperation and the construction of the "Digital Silk Road" amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The aim is to contribute university wisdom and solutions to explore the common development of human society.
During the release conference, an honorary professorship ceremony for XJTU was held, as well as a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements between XJTU and institutions such as KAZNU.

At the same time, XJTU and KAZNU also signed an agreement on the exchange of students in the field of international law.
Afterwards, the International Symposium on Higher Education Cooperation and Industry-University Integration took place, with representatives from 27 universities across seven countries participating.
Participants engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions on international industry-university-research cooperation, the construction of a higher education cooperation mechanism in the SCO region, and international cooperative education. Important consensuses were reached during these exchanges.
