XJTU students secure 8 first-place prizes in Chinese Mathematics Competition
XJTU students win a total of 20 prizes in the 15th Chinese Mathematics Competition for College Students.
On April 21, the final of the 15th Chinese Mathematics Competition for College Students came to a close. A total of 20 students from Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) secured eight first-place prizes, nine second-place prizes, and three third-place prizes. The number of prizes placed XJTU in fourth place among all universities nationwide. XJTU also received the second-place prize for excellent organization.
Zhang Shu achieved a new breakthrough by clinching third place nationally in the mathematics category for lower-grade students – a significant achievement.
The Chinese Mathematics Competition for College Students, organized by the Chinese Mathematical Society, is one of the most influential national academic competitions for undergraduate students in China.
This edition of the competition attracted 288,355 participants from 1,108 universities nationwide, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and XJTU. Ultimately, 1,169 students advanced to the finals, marking a historic high in both the number of participants in the preliminary round and the number advancing to the finals.
XJTU places strong emphasis on nurturing students' comprehensive mathematical innovation capabilities. A total of 1,936 students registered to participate in the preliminary round of the competition.
