XJTU to hold higher education cooperation forum among SCO member states
XJTU plans to hold the "UASR Education Cooperation Forum among Universities from SCO Member States".
Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), as the secretariat of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR), plans to hold the "UASR Education Cooperation Forum among Universities from SCO Member States" in Xi'an on March 18, 2024, during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, in an effort to deepen practical cooperation in higher education. The summit is titled "Digital Education in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals".
The forum is also an effort to fully leverage the UASR to deepen practical cooperation and strengthen the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of various countries and regional cooperation initiatives.
To date, the forum has received support from 11 universities and research institutions from eight SCO member states, including Moscow State University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, International University of Kyrgyzstan, the National Academy of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajik National University, and the University of SCO.
During the forum, a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements in higher education will be held to promote college credit recognition among participating universities and to launch the first project under this framework – an online course on the path to achieving sustainable development goals.
