XJTU alumni, professor selected among 2023 New Brain 30
Three Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) alumni – Wei Pengfei, Cao Peng and Wang Haochong – and Professor Wang Changhe were selected among the 2023 New Brain 30. The list was recently released at an innovation and collaboration conference of the brain science industry in Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province.
Wei Pengfei.
Wei studied biomedical engineering at XJTU from 2002 to 2006 for his bachelor's degree and from 2006 to 2009 for his master's degree. He is a researcher at the Brain Cognition and Brain Diseases Institute of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He holds a professorship at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and serves as the CTO at Shenzhen Zhongke Huayi Technology Co and is a recipient of the National Excellent Youth Fund.
Cao Peng.
Cao obtained his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from XJTU from 2005 to 2009. He earned his doctoral degree in biomedical engineering and biomechanics from the University of Technology of Compiegne in France.
Dr. Cao is the founder and CEO of Hangzhou Genlight Medical Technology Co. He has led or participated in three national and provincial-level projects, published over 40 high-level papers domestically and internationally, and holds more than 20 patents.
Wang Haochong.
Wang earned his master's degree in mechanical design and manufacturing at XJTU from 2016 to 2019. Since 2022, he has been pursuing his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at XJTU.
He is the founder and CEO of Xi'an ZhenTec Co. Wang was selected as one of Forbes China's Elite Under 30 in 2019 and Forbes Asia's Elite Under 30 in 2020.
Professor Wang Changhe.
Prof Wang serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Life Science and Technology at XJTU and holds the title of National Young Talent. He has been awarded the Beishizhang Young Biophysicist Award, the Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology Award, and the first prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award (as the third principal investigator).
In addition to serving as director of the Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, he is also department head of the Department of Biology.
