XJTU's delegation visits the Kazakh Humanitarian and Legal University.

A delegation led by Shan Wenhua, assistant president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), visited Kazakhstan on Sept 5-6.

On Sept 5, the delegation participated in the China (Shaanxi) – Kazakhstan Higher Education Exhibition held by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan.

At the exhibition, the delegation promoted the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR) and XJTU's study abroad programs. The enrollment ceremony for new member universities, including Astana IT University, South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University and South Kazakhstan University, took place during the exhibition. On behalf of the school and the Alliance Secretariat, Shan awarded them the alliance commemorative eave tile.

On Sept 6, the delegation visited the Confucius Institute at Eurasian University and the Kazakh Humanitarian and Legal University. Both sides were engaged in discussions regarding the experience of establishing Confucius Institutes in Central Asia, the current status of Chinese language teaching in Kazakhstan, and the current state of the Confucius Institute at XJTU.

During the visit to the Kazakh Humanitarian and Legal University, Sergey Pen, president of the university, welcomed the delegation and said he hoped to deepen cooperation in areas such as joint talent development in the future.

Shan stated that prospects for cooperation are promising, and in the future he hopes to strengthen cooperation through initiatives like student exchange programs and academic research collaborations and explore more diverse forms of collaboration on platforms like UASR.
