XJTU kicks off 5th Global Governance and Innovation Talents Camp
XJTU launches 5th Global Governance and Innovation Talents Camp on April 25.
The 5th XJTU Global Governance and Innovation Talents Camp commenced at Xi'an Jiaotong University on April 25.
With the theme "Envisioning my UN career development," the three-day camp drew the participation of 171 teachers and students from about 30 schools and departments at the XJTU, including 10 foreign students.
The camp event covered a wide range of topics, including the development of global competence, the history and evolution of international organizations, talent assessment by the United Nations, and valuable insights from professionals with working experience at various UN agencies. Participants had the opportunity to delve into these subjects, gaining knowledge and skills relevant to their future UN career aspirations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Ning, president of the International Competence Development Committee under the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy and former deputy secretary-general of the China Scholarship Council; Xue Yuxue, a former director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to Afghanistan and Indonesia; Liu Zhixian, former director of External Relations in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and former vice-president and director-general of the United Nations Association of China; and Carlotta Clivio, program specialist of International Training Centre of the International Labor Organization(ITCILO).
