XJTU 14 projects excel in biomedical engineering competition
Through unremitting efforts, 14 projects of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) stood out in the 7th National Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition for College Students, coming away with three first prizes, four second prizes and seven third prizes.
Based on biomedical engineering technology, XJTU teams designed systems and solutions for frontier issues, such as the rehabilitation of manual function in stroke patients, individual brain age prediction, and early cancer screening.
Xi'an Jiaotong University students' works that won first prize
The university's School of Life Science and Technology has seen continued success thanks to its cultivation philosophy, which sees students taught using an educational model that integrates teaching, projects, and competitions.
A total of 119 colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition, with 1,406 teams and 1,025 submissions.
Sponsored by the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, the only professional society in China that integrates scientific research, teaching, clinical practice and research and development, the competition has contributed to the nation's cultivation of outstanding talents in biomedical engineering.
