To prepare for the 31st Summer World University Games, the Ministry of Education, the General Administration of Sports of China and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China have selected a group of athletes to build a national team. Zhang Donghao, a track and field athlete from XJTU, has been handpicked into the national team and will compete for China in the semi-marathon to be held in June. 

Zhang has won gold medals in many domestic half marathon events, including ones held in Xi’an and Chongqing. At the 14th National Student Sports Games, he participated in 3000m steeplechase for the first time and finished third place in male division Group A.
