Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held a ceremony to mark its 126th anniversary on April 8 at iHarbour, one of the university's campuses focusing on science and technology innovation.
Fifteen innovative talent programs were settled and one school-enterprise cooperative platform was inaugurated at the event.

In his speech, XJTU President Wang Shuguo emphasized the importance of talent cultivation with universities, enterprises, and governments as a union. He expected the university to embark on an innovative road that meets the future development of the world.
On behalf of XJTU, Vice President Chai Wei signed agreements with companies in smart technology, high-tech, communication and equipment engineering.
The Xi'an Jiaotong University-Hitachi-Northwest Nonferrous Metals Research Institute Joint R&D Center officially got off the ground at the ceremony under the witness of school leaders, experts, and the relevant superintendent of Hitachi.
By pooling advantages from all sides, XJTU said it is committed to serving as a linkage among innovative projects, industries, capital funds, and policies. Central to its goals, XJTU strives to start by cultivating talents for regional economic and social development, the new pattern of China's Western Campaign, and the country's self-reliance in accelerating scientific and technological development.
Lu Jianjun, Secretary of the XJTU Party Committee, He Yaling, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Pingxiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Sun Jun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the event.
The ceremony was presided over by Rong Mingzhe, Executive Deputy Secretary of the XJTU Party Committee.
