Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) students won the model rocket launch and load recovery team championship at the China Aeromodelling Design Challenge Grand Final (CADC) held in Fuxin, Northeast China's Liaoning province from Oct 13 to 19.

They also won two national first prizes, one second prize, and five third prizes in the weeklong competition.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) students win the team championship at the China Aeromodelling Design Challenge Grand Final Competition (CADC) in Fuxin, Northeast China's Liaoning province.

The XJTU Student Aeromodelling Team is composed of aviation enthusiasts from multiple grades and majors. In recent years, the team has won the SAE Aero Design Competition and CADC championship several times.

CADC is the highest level aeromodelling competition in China, integrating design, manufacture and flight. 

The competition, together with the SAE Aero Design Competition and Air Cargo Competition, is one of the top three aircraft design competitions.

The competition aims to cultivate students' design innovation and practical ability to solve specific problems in terms of aerodynamic pneumatics, structure and control. 

This year's grand final attracted almost 1,700 students from more than 70 universities, including top universities in China like Tsinghua and Beihang. XJTU has participated in the competition for 14 years and won 63 national first prizes.
