The student rowing team of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) wins six gold medals and one silver medal during the 4th Shenyang International Open Regatta from Sept 19 to 20.
During the 4th Shenyang International Open Regatta held from Sept 19 to 20, 23 students from the rowing team of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) won in all the various competitions in the college student group and also won four relay championships in the ergometer challenge competition.
"It was my first time to represent the school to participate in a high-level competition, which made me feel very excited. Winning the championship, I would like to thank the coach and teammates for their encouragement, help and support," said Ge Yining, captain of the XJTU women's team and student of Nanyang College.
Sponsored by the Chinese Rowing Association and the Shenyang Sports Bureau, the regatta was held on the Hunhe River in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning, and attracted 33 teams from universities, primary and secondary schools and high-level clubs across the country.
In addition to college students, the competition also set up various groups such as a youth group, a parent-child group, and a couples’ group. Each group had sections for men and women.
