XJTU silk road international winter camp opens
On the afternoon of January 25, 2021, the XJTU Silk Road International Winter Camp opened online. This winter camp took “Recalling the Past, Cherishing the Present, Looking Forward to the Innovation-driven Future” as the theme. About 300 international students from 48 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and Pakistan, met online for the opening ceremony. XJTU Vice-president Xi Guang, Professor Liu Maochang from the School of Energy and Power Engineering, and Professor Wang Hua from the School of Foreign Studies attended the ceremony.
Zhang Xiaojing from the School of International Education introduced XJTU to international students and the need-to-knows about the winter camp. Professor Wang Hua lectured on BRI and a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind under the Background of Covid-19. The following week, campers will have an in-depth study of Xi'an's unique history and culture and hear lectures on general knowledge of the most advanced technologies, providing a chance to fully understand the inclusiveness and mutual learning encompassed within the Silk Road Spirit. Using the international winter camp as a platform to promote culture dissemination and mutual learning, XJTU will make more contributions to promote people-to-people exchange, science and technology communication, and mutual understanding and trust with other countries.
