State-Level Central Legal-Services District established in Xi'an
Recently, the Chinese Ministry of Justice and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government held a ceremony to unveil the establishment of the Belt and Road Demonstration Zone for International Commercial Legal Services (BRDZ-ICLS) -- The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Legal Services Committee Xi'an Center (CSLSC-XC), the Belt and Road Lawyers association Xi'an Center (BRILA-XC), the Belt and Road Center for International Commercial Resolution (BRC-IODR), and the National Biosafety Evidence Foundation (NBEF). The ceremony marked the formal authorization of XJTU's proposal to establish a state-level Belt and Road demonstration zone for legal services and innovation of rule of law in Xi'an.
In 2017, based on in-depth investigation of legal service needs, XJTU professor Shan Wenhua and his team submitted A Proposal for Establishing a National-level Belt and Road Demonstration Zone for Legal Services and Innovation of the Rule of Law to relevant superior departments. The proposal was highly recognized and supported by China's Supreme People's Court, Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and the Xi'an Municipal Committee. In July 2018, XJTU and the Xi'an Municipal Government officially signed an agreement to jointly build the Belt and Road Demonstration Zone for Legal Services and Innovation of Rule of Law (Central Legal-Services District-CLD) and the Belt and Road International Dispute Management Center.
