On October 26, 2020, winners of the 19th National Robot Contest (ROBOCON)for college students were announced. XJTU's robot teamstood out among the 76 participating teams in China and won the first prize and the best design award (the only one in China).

The 19th ROBOCON took Rugby Match as the theme,with two robots and five representative defenders playing 7-a-side rugby matches. Members of each team had to comprehensively adoptmechanical, electronic, control, image recognition, computer and other technical knowledge in order for two robots to cooperatively complete kicking and catching tasks. To reduce pandemic risks,this was an online contest.
