News briefing of world-first endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation conducted at iHarbour
On July 25, 2020, the news briefing of the world's first endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation was held at iHarbour.
During the briefing, Professor Lü Yi introduced the clinical success of endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation and its application. On July 23, 2020, two teams led, respectively, by Professor Lü Yi (Hepatological Surgery Department) and Wang Qiang (Anesthesiology Department) had the first successful clinical application of endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation. They overturned the traditional endotracheal intubation, solving relevant technical problems in the process. In consideration of providing better services for human health, Professor Lü stated that robots for endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation would be included in their next research plan.
Professor Lü and his team members, using an anthropometric dummy, performed endotracheal intubation with full magnetic navigation. The whole intubation process was completed in 3 minutes.
