Liu Wenyue develops a COVID-19 infection risk big data evaluation model
Recently, XJTU's associate professor Liu Wenyue of the School of Management, developed a COVID-19 infection risk big data evaluation model. It has been utilized in Yunnan Province since February 4, 2020, and has significantly improved the efficiency of disease-related inspection and helped to control transmission risk.
In scanning citizens' ID cards, this system traces travel history based on big data, finding out if they have been to the epidemic focus or have had contact with people from the focus or confirmed patients. It calculates the infection risk index and level so as to predict those at high infection risks. Amazingly, the entire calculation process takes less than 1 second, which is very helpful in disease control and prevention.
