On the morning of May 12, 2019, Alexander Shestakov, Rector of South Ural State University (SUSU), and his delegation visited XJTU. XJTU President Wang Shuguo met and signed a student exchange agreement with the visitors in Room 107 of the XJTU Science Hall. Deans of the School of Foreign Studies and the School of Energy and Power Engineering, and the head of the Department of International Cooperation & Exchange of XJTU attended the signing ceremony; heads of offices of related disciplines also met and exchanged ideas regarding future development.

Chen Xiangjing, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, and leaders of SUSU Pushkin Institute, reached a consensus on joining the SUSU Pushkin Institute Center of Distance Education. The two sides also agreed to prepare for the establishment of the Center at XJTU in the near future.
