Recently, XJTU Associate Professors Zhu Xiaowen and Lu Chuntian from the Institute for Empirical Social Science Research (IESSR) of the Department of Social Sciences of the School of Humanities, published the their latest findings of their joint research on the Journal of Environmental Psychology. Entitled as "Re-evaluation of the New Ecological Paradigm scale using item response theory", this article evaluated the widely accepted New Ecological Paradigm scale based on item response theory. This research is the first of its kind in applying modern assessment theory to the evaluation of NEP. Through the new method, new findings were obtained, which will provide guidance to the application and modification of this scale.
