Professor Sun Ju’s team at XJTU made a breakthrough in low temperature gas expander technology
Since 2000, professor Sun Jun’s team at XJTU has committed to studies and innovations of low temperature gas expander technology. Eventually, the team made a breakthrough in the related technology. The testing indicators of sample expander developed by the team reached the level of similar products abroad. The complete set of low temperature gas expander technology developed by the team through independent innovations could support broad industrial transfer and applications.
Since the past 15 years, the team has dedicated to fundamental studies of low temperature gas expander and technological innovations. Supported by the national ‘Eleventh-Year’ 863 program, ‘Twelfth-Year’ support program, and the National Natural Science Foundation program, the team has made a breakthrough with regards to internal flow design theories and methods, design optimization, structural optimization, low temperature insulation technology, low-temperature materials use, low-temperature experiment and testing technology and methods etc of low temperature gas expander. Through testing of specialized unit, the performance indicators of sample expander reached the technological level of similar products abroad. Now, the complete set of low temperature gas expander technology developed by the team could absolutely support broad industrial transfer and applications.
