XJTU professor Ma Wei’s team authored an article on adjustment mechanism of high-efficient solar cell photo-electro conversion
Professor Ma Wei’s team at XJTU State Key Lab on Metal Strength and their partners found that PffBT4T-2OD demonstrated a completely different property from other materials in solution. That is, the concentration of PffBT4T-2OD is strongly dependent upon temperature. The property gives it unique processing features and technique dependency and provides a new approach to its shape adjustment.
Based on this, professor Ma Wei’s research team systematically studied the technique parameters including the spinning speed, liquid processing temperature and density etc and the impact of polymer molecular mass toward shape and performances of PffBT4T-2OD:PC71BM solar cell. The findings explain essentially why PffBT4T-2OD demonstrates high energy conversion rate, provide a novel approach to shape of solar cells and give valuable references to elevation of similar materials’ conversion.
The research results were done by professor Ma Wei’s team in partnership with professor Yan He from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and professor Harald Ade from North Carolina State University. The results were published on the prestigious Advanced Energy Materials (the impact factor is 16.146). The article reader believed the research had high research value and recommended it as a VIP paper. XJTU is the first authoring and correspondence unit.
