Executive vice chancellor Ewan McKendrick of Oxford University visited XJTU
On September 21, the executive vice chancellor Ewan McKendrick of Oxford University visited XJTU. President Wang Shuguo met the chancellor. The two parties held discussions about the XJTU 120th anniversary, the University Alliance of the New Silk Road (UANSR) and the expansion of collaboration into broader disciplines such as law etc. VP Xi Guang, Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and deans of participating schools were also present on the meeting.
President Wang expressed his welcome to professor Ewan McKendrick and extended on behalf of XJTU an invitation to him to the 120th anniversary. Professor Ewan McKendrick showed his appreciation for the invitation and shared his views on broadening disciplinary collaboration.
VP Xi Guang and Director Liang Li of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges briefed the UANSR, while Professor Ewan McKendrick pointed out alliance was a short cut to address many existing economic, legal and social issues and expressed his best regards for further development of UANSR.
During his visit, Professor Ewan McKendrick will also attend the 2015 Eurasian Economic Forum as the honorary professor of XJTU.
